龙眼新品种‘良圆’
A New LonganVariety 'Liang Yuan'
'Liang Yuan' longan was selected by single plant selection from the F1 generation population of the cross conducted in 2005 with 'Da Wu Yuan' longan as the mother and 'Chu Liang' longan as the father. The genetic traits of 'Liang Yuan' longan are stable after many years of planting trials in Guangdong.
'Liang Yuan' longan has the characteristics of vigorous growth, larger flowering, less physiological fruit abscission, lower fruit cracking rate, and longer retention time on the tree. The average plant yield was 5.9 kg and 14.0 kg in the fourth and fifth years after Topworking, equivalent to 194.7 kg and 462.0 kg per acre, respectively.
'Liang Yuan' longan fruit ripens around the end of July to mid-August. The fruit skin is yellowish-brown and the flesh is creamy white, slightly transparent, not juicy, free from the nucleus, tough and crisp, with a sweet taste. The single fruit weight is 15.2g, the soluble solids content is 19.5%, the vitamin C content is 73.2mg/100g, the reducing sugar content is 6.8g/100g, the total sugar content is 16.0g/100g and the edibility rate is 67.1%.
'Liang Yuan' longan had larger fruits and excellent fruit quality and showed resistance to longan ghost broom disease in field planting. Therefore, 'Liang Yuan' longan has excellent overall characteristics and is suitable for planting in longan production areas in Guangdong province.
